Cara Pennel
Cara Pennel is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Public Health Program in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Community Health at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Her professional interests include community health assessment and community health improvement planning, particularly as it relates to the IRS requirements for nonprofit hospitals. She aims to incorporate community-based public health practice into all aspects of her work (teaching, research, and service). She received her Doctorate of Public Health (DrPH) and Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Texas A&M School of Public Health.
